Gontermann-Peipers (India) (GPIL), was promoted  in collaboration with Gontermann-Peipers Siegen, Germany, a leading European manufacturer of rolling mill rolls since 1825. In 1981, the company was taken over by the Ispat Group, since then GPI has been  evolving itself to keep pace with the dynamic business scenario and emerged as a leader in the Indian roll industry.

Major expansion and modernization programme along with the induction of state-of-the-art technology has kept the company on leading edge of rolling mill rolls technology with a  product range from SG Iron rolls to the latest generation High Speed Steel Roll and Back-up Rolls for Steel Rolling Mills – customized to meet specific customer needs. The only Indian roll maker with both vertical and horizontal spin casting technology, we are well equipped to meet the stringent quality requirements of the latest generation hot strip mills. The company is also one of the largest producer of  forged rolls.  GPIL is the first and the only Indian Roll manufacturer to achieve TPM Level-I.

The company sells majority of its products in the domestic market, and the rest is exported to leading steel plants of USA, Canada, China, South Korea, South East Asia, Middle East, Africa, Latin America and Europe. The vast export market has enabled GPI to receive the EEPC Excellence Award for 6 consecutive years for being the highest exporter of rolling mill rolls from India.

Technical Services

• GPI has a Technical Team of trained roll application engineers who are well conversant with the roll manufacturing process as well as the product application in rolling mills.

•With a long term agreement with Arcelor Mittal Europe, GPI has the advantage of developing and sharing roll and rolling mill technology with the most sophisticated R&D facilities in Europe.

• An Account Management Team analyzes information & decides on the future course of action at the account

Plant & Equipment

Melting Shop with three Induction furnaces 12T, 8T & 6T & a twin station LRF - 22T each, in combination having a melting capacity of 70T

• Only Indian roll manufacturer with Vertical Centrifugal Casting (600 to 825 mm dia.) & Horizontal (600 to 1400 mm dia.) Centrifugal Casting facility in India.

• A mechanized foundry equipped with a modern fully automated Sand Plant & other equipments

• Sufficient Heat Treatment capacity with PLC controlled furnaces of 30-80 T capacity with dual fuel facilities ensuring accurate temperature control.

• Company maintains transparency in production, marketing, supply chain activities & adopted SAP since 2008 

Gontermann-Peipers India - financial update

Gontermann Peipers India Ltd has informed BSE that a meeting of the Board of Directors of the Company will be held on November 12, 2014, inter alia, to consider and approve the Unaudited Financial Results of the Company for the quarter and half year ended September 30, 2014. Further, as per the Code of Conduct for Prevention of Insider Trading laid down by the Company pursuant to the SEBI (Prohibition of Insider Trading) Regulations, 1992, the Trading Window for dealing in the securities of the Company was closed for the Directors & Designated Employees of the Company w.e.f. October 01, 2014 and the Trading Window will reopen 24 hours after the publication of the aforesaid financial results.
